| Jet Brennan is a Scots/Irish singer/songwriter and guitarist now living in exile in England. His bittersweet songs are uncompromisingly plain and deceptively simple and delivered in a stripped-down style with a Celtic lilt. 'I try to capture how it feels to glimpse a moment of someone's life through a keyhole'. Winner of the UK Voice of the Year contest in 1996, he broke with tradition by performing his own composition, Easy Morning, instead of a cover version. Jet was originally a drummer before falling in love with the guitar in his teens. Later, after his move to England, he made a living playing rhythm guitar in local bands until discovering that he had a knack for writing songs that people enjoyed. Over the past few years he has performed more often as a solo artist mainly in Scotland, Ireland and France. Every now and then he goes back to his roots and tries out new material by busking - 'it's a true test of whether you've got a song that makes people stop and listen'. His latest, Hashish to Ashes, not only stopped them in the streets but brought out the handkerchiefs and tissues too. More songs available on my myspace site www.myspace.com/jetbrennan1.
